Why?

Why do you blog?  I have noticed lately that a lot of blogs are plugging products.  It seems that some young mothers are making money blogging so they can stay home with their young children.  I applaud folks that can do that but it is not for me.

I blog for the creative interaction of other quilters.  I love hearing from quilters from all over the country and the world.  It is so gratifying for me.  Thanks to  all of you that read my blog and comment.

These are a couple of pillows I made for my new couch.  I am discovering how much fun pillows are to make.   Yes I am into lots of color these days.

When we cleaned out our attic in the fall would you believe I found three lamps that my uncle had given me.  Here is one and it fits in perfectly with our new look.

This is my winter project.  I am hand quilting this lap quilt.  I used mostly solids in the colors of my new room.  I found a quilt online that I loved and sort of copied it.  It was absolutely free pieced!  It is the way I love to work,  so much fun but also very challenging.

Last but definitely not least one day last week my grandson and I were in my sewing room.  He started cutting scraps and putting them on my design wall.  He had a ball! Said it was the funnest afternoon ever!  Can you get better than that?

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  I hope you all spend time with your friends and family.  We are looking forward to everyone being home even if it is for short time.

Again thanks to all of you that take the time to read my blog.

I'm with you -- I blog for the community of quiltmakers. I don't sell anything, or promote anything on my blog. I've found I have a lot less visitors lately and less comments, so I'm not sure what's going on.
I love the solids quilt.

I blog for creative reasons - to help document my progress and 'history' of my quiltmaking, but also to document some fun things to do with my life.

I find that the 'plug' blogs are really starting to fizzle my creativity. I feel a little deflated when I come up with a neat design or idea... I don't quite know how to explain it.

But -I read AND follow you ;-)

I love the lamp, it fits perfect. I blog because I get to meet amazing people, get creative ideas....and sometimes I get lonely...especially in Samoa.

First - LOVE the quilt!!!
Second - I agree with your comments about bloggers. One that I followed really turned me off when she got too commercial and THEN on more than one occassion decided to vent about her disfunctional family! Good grief. My blog is "show off time" and I try to teach, explain, inspire.

Hello True Blue!

I love my blogging - mainly because I have met such wonderful quilting friends such as yourself and because - as my husband has always said..... I can talk under wet cement! My blog allows me to do this in print and share my sewing and crafting at the same time. I have picked up such great hints and projects through blogging - I love to learn new things and I love to share what I have learnt over the years.

I don't always comment on everyone's blog posts, but I do read each and everyone that I follow. I'm not worried about how many comments or emails I get either - I blog because I enjoy it and as others have said - it is a great way to document our projects and the journey we took in making them.

Wishing you and the family a very Happy Christmas,

Helen

Luv the colours happening in your home. Wonky is wonderful. I guess we all blog for different reasons but this whole numbers thing is starting to get me down. Stats. It is gratifying to know one isn't only talking to oneself but I must admit I'm not interested in jumping thru the hoops to get more visitors. I'm skipping past more and more blogs that are slow to load, frustrating to read and all about commercials.

Happy holidays, Nancy.

I blog because I enjoy being part of this creative community and being able to share my colorful little corner with others.

Comments - far fewer than usual. I suspect too many are unduly stressed about the coming holiday (at least I hope that is the reason). Combined with the sheer overload of everything this time of year, I think people are rushing around and not taking time to stop and enjoy the moments.

Love how you are playing with color!!!
