Yes I have decided to have Christmas this year. With the chaos in my life the last month at times I wondered if it would happen. Our kids have all pitched in and taken over some of the duties of cooking, etc. Isn't it wonderful to have kids that are such great people?
My mother didn't do as well as we had hoped in rehab. I talked to an agency about home care and they could not take care of her safely. She has so many mobility issues. We moved her to a skilled nursing facility last week. She is not happy but it is actually a very nice place. It looks like a nice hotel. They have a beautiful dining room and lots of activities. They also have a rehab program that is not as strenuous as the rehab unit at the hospital. We are hoping that she will get stronger and come home in a couple of months. Our goal is to bring her home not to leave her there.
Isn't this a great stocking? Go HEELS!!

I'm with Stanley -- sometimes curling up for a good nap is the way to go! I hope your mother adjusts quickly to her new situation, and that her stay isn't too long.
Stay with it, Darling ... as I've said before, there are better times ahead - Happy Christmas and God Bless!
Hugs - Lurline!
Hi Nana, thanks for stopping by my blog, Pieces and leaving a comment. You've got a really good eye!! *VBS* Yes, the finish quilt with the black and white polka dots is the one you saw back in August. At first was just the 4 patches and HSTs. Took me awhile to decide on lattice. Then I got caught up in Tonya's Fungly blocks for a spell. Right after that I sort of happened into the New Years Eve UFO challenge. It's taken me a while to get back to the polka dots and get it tied. Sometimes it's the backing that holds me up, sometimes it the batt. Eventually I get them done...LOL. Thanks for liking it. Big Christmas hugs, Finn
P.S. You moms quilts are just lovely. I especially like the gray and plaid on on a previous post.
here I am late to the party-enjoyed catching up with your posts-I will keep fingers crossed for your mom-I am glad you found someplace that will enable her to keep working towards that goal of coming home! it's not easy for any of you I know. I am glad you had help in being able to enjoy Christmas! your mom's quilts are so fabulous and your aunts is my most favorite - I would be fighting over it too!
Stanley appears to be a wise cat.
