Piddlin'

For my own mental health I had to get into my sewing room yesterday. I don't have a pressing project. I wish I had one to concentrate on but at the moment I don't. I have two quilts that I have sewn the binding on and I need to do the handwork. I have the quilt for my grandson that I am hand quilting but I need something that is so engrossing I cannot think of anything else. Any ideas?

I did make a liberated star yesterday that I just love. A bunch of these would make a great quilt.

I am still doing scrap blocks. I didn't like this one so I cut it in half and put it back together.

This is kind of a wonky scrap log cabin. I really like the scrappiness of this one. Is scrappiness a word?

Still working on a few houses. I am having an affair with dots. These are scrap blocks made into houses.

I really like these. How would they do for a whole quilt?

Two more scrap blocks. They are a great thing to work on when you just need to do something.

I am still working on my mother's situation. I was so dependent on her caregiver that it has really been a jolt for me. Her caregiver is doing well and will recover but won't be able to come back to work. She did so many things for us. She is almost irreplaceable. I am looking at other options and we may try assisted living. It would give my mother some companionship and more stimulation. I am determined to look forward and make good decisions. Thanks so much for all your kind words. It means so much to me.

Love you blocks, and yes, i would say you do have a love affair with dots but Ilove them!!

Good luck with the decision making.

Hi Nancy,
I think you're working on just the right project - using your math skills on those wonky stars and houses should take you "into your quilting world"!! and make you concentrate on the task at hand. A log cabin block might be useful too, all that math again!
I'll pop you an email later too,
Kind Regards,
Helen

I love your houses! And that star -- I love the fabric combo. Guess I'm dotty about dots!

Lovely blocks...the houses and star look great. The dot fabrics are very nice in the blocks.

Oh, I love all your scrappy blocks! I think making them into houses is quite inspired and would make a really cute quilt. I love dots too - there's no such thing as too many!

Good luck on those tough decisions. How does your mom feel about assisted living? My mom, when we finally got her there, loved it.
