Ankle Drama pt. 3

No sewing lately, nothing but sitting with my leg up. The good news is my ankle is not broken and the bad news is my ankle is not broken. I understand from the doctor that it would heal faster if it was broken. I have a severe sprain. At least I have a walking cast now and can do some moving around. I am not running any marathons but at least I am walking.

My husband has been very good but was getting tired of waiting on me. Have you ever noticed how many things you see that need doing when you can't do them! It drives me crazy. I got a lot of reading done. I read a really good book Roses by Leila Meacham. I also read Caravans by James Michener, it is about Afghanistan and very interesting.

These are some Broken Dishes squares I made before my fall. I am still off to my retreat on Sunday. There was no way I was going to miss that!

Thanks for all the great thoughts.

Oh, no - how dreadful to be immobilised! I am out of the loop a bit and had missed your previous Posts - so sorry to hear about your fall. You are sounding quite cheerful - hope I am able to fill in time as you have been doing.
Big hugs and best wishes - Lurline♥

Nice leg! Very nice broken dishes and an intersting block to have been working on in light of the 'fall'. But scoop up all those broken pieces, and go have a super time at the retreat. For sure you'll be advancing on all fronts soon.

You have my sympathies. I walked into a sewing machine which was on the floor so I could square off a quilt. Stubbed my little toe really badly and think I have broken it, not for the first time!

Hospital can't do anything so I just strapped it up and carried on. The pain was indescribable!

Oh, I know just how you feel! I couldn't do anything after I broke my arm...not even shower or dress by myself. I'm much better now - 5 months later - but I'm still trying to get to so much that didn't get done in that time. DH did a super job of cooking and cleaning, but of course didn't do it like I would have. So, yes, it's frustrating! I hope your ankle is feeling better. Glad to see you can get around some now. Take it easy still, and have a blast at retreat!
