Musings

Who said "I didn't really say everything I said"? My husband and I enjoy the quote of the day and this was one of our favorites. In my classroom I covered the walls with quotes, some serious, some inspiring, some funny and some just plain silly. The kids loved it.

What do you do when you wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep? Some of us organize our solids!

Do you have a area d
edicated to sewing or quilting? Do you work in the corner of a room, do you have a spare room or are you fortunate enough to have a studio. I always wonder about other people's work areas. Do you work on a table or a desk?
Do you keep your fabric so you can see it or is it in storage bins? Do you organize by color or some other way? About a year ago we did some work in the kitchen and my daughter suggested I move my pie safe to my sewing room and put my fabric in it. What a great idea! I can open the doors and see it all. Well not actually all, I do have some in containers.

Do you listen to music or watch TV whil
e you are working? I listen to Elvis, it is amazing what you can do while listening to Poke Salad Annie.

I'm one of the lucky ones to have a quilt studio. You can see it on my blog. It's still in progress. I have most of my fabric where I can see it (finally!!) because I love to see it and touch it, and be reminded of how much of it I have! I haven't created a lot here yet, but I'm working on it. It was fun to see your fabric and how you store it. And I always have music on when I sew. It helps loosen up the creativity. I love my mp3 player! Yep, it's got Elvis on it too!

Hi,
I have a separate studio that I use for my sewing, (though don't go over to my blog expecting to see any). I hope to put some photos up of my studio soon, but at the moment it is full of boxes, having just moved some stuff from the UK to Sweden. Most of my fabrics are piled onto shelves, but some are in baskets. I have tables to work at, all supposing I ever get to do any.
Good idea to use the pie safe for your fabrics. I didn't know that it was called that.

I don't think I could see straight at 3:00am - could probably take everything off the shelves and then that would be it. I always have a podcast going or have the tv on while I'm sewing or quilting.

In a corner of a bedroom in a foreign land you will find me sewing away, surrounded in books, plastic boxes full of fabric (too much dust for it to be out) which is sort of sorted into colours. The computer is in the same corner and I have the radio on the whole time, or music playing on the PC. I'm getting DD's rejected MP3 when she gets her new one so am looking forward to that.
