Running on low
My creative juices are running on low these last few days. I keep trying to jump start something and it just isn't working. We are keeping the grandson this weekend so there won't be much time for quilting. I volunteered to make some baby quilts for my daughter-in-law. I thought I might try the disappearing nine-patch that QuiltPixie used. She shows you how to do it on her blog. I made the mistake of cutting my squares 3 1/2 inches. That was too small. I am going to try again with 6 inch blocks. It is a neat thing to do. I love the way it looks. It looks so much more complicated than it is. My mother used nine-patch and I love it too.

I LOVE the fabric you used in your D9P (disappearing 9 patch)! It really draws your eye in...
When I'm in a creative slump I make a deal with myself of at least 15 minutes in the studio doing something... I often make fiber art postcards 'cause if I love them great if I hate them fine, if I'm ambivalent it doesn't matter, they all go out the door to someone else!
Hope the muse returns from holidays soon for you.
Funny thing. Right after I read about your creative slump I read this. http://selvageblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-can-this-onion-chair-give-us.html
Not a bad thought!
Hmmmm.... That link doesn't look right on my screen. Anyway it's http://selvage.blogspot.com and it's the post about the onion chair. :-)
Oh yikes it's too early in the morning! http://selvageblog.blogspot.com
I love that bright block!
I am running on E right now!
i guess i'm there right now, in a slump that is. i can't seem to get back to a big project...so right now i'm doing a bunch of little things. there's something about finishing that sparks me a bit.
I think after a time the mind goes blank, especially if you've been sewing up a storm.
Sit back and relax. If you are concerned, read instead. That helps me a lot. It does sound as if you've got a lot on your mind at the moment so go with the flow and the mojo will return.
