Along with all of the things I have had to do for mother my daughter in law went back to work after the birth of our second grandson. The plan was for her mother to come and help out but as they say the best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray. Her mother got sick and could not come. So along with getting my mother settled I have had both boys. I do love keeping them. It is wonderful to have that daily interaction with your grandkids.
Quilting has taken a back seat. I have lost my focus. I would love to have it back. Quilting would be a way for me to relax. Oh well, life is always changing.

These are truly hard times for you. Parenting one's parent is hard. So far I have not had a lot of it, but my mom is now 88. One never knows when she might start a slide down the slippery slope of independence to dependence. I wish you peace, and faith that your quilting days will be there waiting for you when you find some time.
It sounds as if you have well and truly got your hands full. Hope you do get some "me" time soon.
i hope things settle in to a routine that works for you. i know the caregiving role well. it's not an easy one. wishing you well!
Like I said yesterday....I'll be cheering for you!!
My sister and I both quit our jobs and took care of our parents when they were ill - Daddy's heart was giving out and Mother had a brain tumor. It took both of us to manage and sometimes we had to have help on top of that. It consumes your thoughts so other things go by the wayside. But it's a blessing to be able to do for them what they once did for you. blessings, marlene
